A graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada in 1997, Kathleen Fortin has established herself as a prominent figure on Quebec’s theatre scene, appearing in some fifty productions. Her theatre credits include La Mouette, Le Roi se meurt and Nelligan at the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, Une truite pour Ernestine Shuswap at Espace GO, Rêvez, montagnes! at Espace libre, Opium_37 and Tout ce qui n’est pas sec at Théâtre de Quat’Sous, and Yel at Théâtre Prospero. She also played Maria in La Nuit des Rois at the TNM. More recently, she appeared in Classique(s) at the TNM and will be part of the cast of Ubu roi.

Kathleen is also a prominent figure in Quebec musical theatre. She was part of the acclaimed production Belles-Sœurs, which enjoyed tremendous success in Paris and throughout Quebec. In 2018, she took on the iconic role of Germaine Lauzon in the same production, and in 2025, she played Des-Neiges Verrette in the symphonic version of the work. She has also played Mme Peachum in L’Opéra de quat’sous, Mme Thénardier in Les Misérables and Betty Bird in Demain matin, Montréal m’attend, a role that earned her an ADISQ Award for “Show of the Year, Performer.” She also performed as a singer in Les Quatre saisons d’André Gagnon.

On television, Kathleen has appeared in numerous series, including Les Invincibles, Au secours de Béatrice, Fatale-Station, Olivier, Unité 9, Épidémie, Mon fils, Doute raisonnable, Après, Portrait-robot, Chouchou and Le Gouffre Lumineux. She has been part of the cast of Kamikazes! since 2024, and her performance earned her the 2025 Gémeaux Award for “Best Performance: Comedy.” She previously won her first Gémeaux Award in 2018 for her role in Olivier.

On the big screen, Kathleen has appeared in Maman est chez le coiffeur, Cruising Bar 2, Mars et Avril, L’Affaire Dumont, Antigone, Arlette and Le Guide de la famille parfaite. She continues to make her mark in Quebec cinema, taking on a wide range of roles in both comedy and drama.
